In Our Personal Life

Purpose-Driven For Life

Let’s simplify but we do have to get a little philosophical for a few minutes.  Let’s organize your personal life into no more than 4 purpose-driven catagories.  Think of a beautiful jewelry box for this part of your life, with precious gems inside a stunning jewelry box with 4 drawers.

These will change over time as you refine and organize your personal life so don’t take more than 10 minutes for this exercise.

Here’s My Gems For Life Catagories (at least for this year)

  1. Beauty
  2. People
  3. Finance
  4. Health

No big deal.  What we call each catagory or label doesn’t matter.  We just need separate drawers to organize the gems and jewels in our personal life.

What actually will give us a great sense of order is simple even though life isn’t.

Time Of Your Life

Now assign the time of your life.  Simply decide that the catagories above are assigned in order beginning with Monday and ending with Thursday.

  1. Beauty/Monday
  2. People/Tuesday
  3. Finance/Wednesday
  4. Health/Thursday

Next is “why.”  The “why” of your personal life can be a simple purpose statement for each catagory.  Stop letting your eyes glaze over.  This is extremely important because your “why” is the passion of life and passion is drive.  It is what makes you look forward to getting up each day.  Don’t have that?  It’s there, waiting to be discovered.  It’s what the bible calls the desires of our heart and guess who gives those to us?  (Psalm 37)

“My heart’s desire is to…”

  1. Beauty/Monday  “Create an environment of beauty in my home, my appearance, and in all that I do”
  2. People/Tuesday ”Be like the dawn in all my relationships, bringing hope like the morning”
  3. Finance/Wednesday ”Amaze myself and my husband with innovation, staying within our budget”
  4. Health/Thursday “ Create a healthy lifestyle for me and my family – body mind, and spirit”
